Anheuser-Busch, brewing company, intends to create its own metaverse called “Budverse”

Anheuser-Busch, a brewing corporation based in St. Louis, Missouri, has filed multiple Metaverse-related patent applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Bud Light’s creators plan to establish their own metaverse, dubbed the “Budverse.” According to the documents, Budweiser plans to sell non-fungible tokens with images of beer cans under the Bud Light brand. It also plans to offer online gaming and art exhibition services through Metaverse platforms and virtual environments.
Budweiser debuted its first-ever collection of digital beer cans in November to commemorate the brand’s storied heritage. Its foray into NFTs paid off handsomely, with the “Heritage Collection” selling out in just an hour. Anheuser-Busch launched its new NFT project, the “Bud Light N3XT Collection,” in late January.
Budweiser also purchased the Beer.eth domain for $95,000 in Ethereum in August, and the brand’s official Twitter account was renamed to reflect this. Aside from Budweiser, the famed brewing firm, which was founded in 1852, also owns brands such as Hoegaarden, Shock Top, and LandShark Lager.
It’s worth mentioning that Anheuser-Busch isn’t the first large brewer to hop on board with the Metaverse. In Decentraland, a 3D virtual environment powered by Ethereum, Dutch brewing titan Heineken released “alcohol-free” and “fun-free” virtual beers brewed with purified pixels last month.
