According to a press statement issued on Wednesday, the American international cable sports channel ESPN has entered into an agreement with Tom Brady’s non-fungible token platform Autograph. It will release “Man in the Arena: Tom Brady,” a collection based on a documentary series about the legendary quarterback.
The collection, which is set to be presented on April 6, focuses on Brady’s most significant achievements throughout his 22-year NFL career. From 2002 to 2021, he led his teams to a total of seven Super Bowl championships.
The NFT drop was created in collaboration with Religion of Sports, a media production firm founded by director Gotham Chopra, former professional American football player Michael Strahan, and Brady.
According to Autograph CEO Dillon Rosenblatt, the NFT collection dedicated to Brady’s career is only the beginning of the collaboration. Brady founded the firm in August. It announced a USD 170 million Series B fundraising round in February, led by Silicon Valley giant Andreessen Horowitz.
Brady also asked that the FTX cryptocurrency exchange make a Bitcoin donation to a person who paid USD 518,628 for the ball from the NFL legend’s supposedly final touchdown, only for it to lose the lion’s share of its value owing to his unexpected unretirement.
