Bitfinex, a cryptocurrency exchange, instructed its Ontario clients to withdraw all of their funds by March 1, 2022.
Customers of the cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex, which is based in Canada, will no longer be allowed to access the exchange’s services as of March 1.
According to the exchange, this action was done for no apparent cause. Bitfinex has requested all of its Ontario customers to remove their cash from the cryptocurrency exchange by March 1.
Customers with no account balances will have their accounts cancelled on January 15, 2022. As a result, users who do not have open positions in the exchange’s peer-to-peer financing markets will be unable to access them. Additionally, consumers without open margin positions will be unable to borrow or use margin.
The OSC had declined to comment on Bitfinex’s decision, and Bitfinex had similarly provided no more information.
