Ubisoft and NFT experiment
Ubisoft is one of the world’s largest gaming businesses, and its announcement to collaborate with NFTs grabbed headlines both inside and outside of the crypto world, at that time. It is not the only gaming firm that has considered NFTs, but it is by far the largest. Nonetheless, in the past, the gaming community has been upset by Ubisoft’s plan to team up with NFTs and blockchain technology. At the time, gamers were unified in their resistance to NFTs and the ‘blockchain-ization’ of games.
Ubisoft and blockchain technology.
Though Ubisoft has discontinued support for Ghost Recon, which was published years ago, the company is constantly looking for new ways to use blockchain technology. The corporation has established the Strategic Innovation Lab, which employs Tezos, as well as a four-year research and innovation strategy.
Ubisoft has also teamed with blockchain firm Ultra, which offers an EOSIO-based network. Ubisoft will assist with the latter’s testnet, which will include in-game asset production, ownership transfers between users, and payment methods.
