Mila Kunis launches TV-show

The unveiling of “The Gimmicks,” an animated wrestling programme funded by actress Mila Kunis‘ Sixth Wall production firm, made the tiny but growing non-fungible television industry a little bigger on Monday.

The non-fungible token (NFT) component takes the form of a “choose your own adventure” option for NFT owners, enabling holders to choose on the show’s storyline path at the conclusion of each episode.

“I see the technology and society that comes with NFTs and Web 3 enabling for the viewers to directly engage with and tell artists of what they like and don’t like,” Kunis said.

In March, an NFT artist named Pplpleasr launched her streaming site Shibuya. NFTs holders were invited to watch the pilot episode of “White Rabbit,” the company’s premier series. Ritestream will be out of beta before the end of the week. It is a decentralised platform for funding long-form video content for content creators. It enables investors to invest in films by granting them token ownership of the final distribution rights.

Kunis’ new programme is being made in collaboration with Web 3 animation firm Toon star and is scripted by Dave Ihlenfeld and David Wright.  They earlier collaborated on the popular animated successes “Family Guy” and “The Simpsons.”
