The educational credentials of Charles Hoskinson have prompted a Twitter controversy. Cardano founder was called out by Laura Shin, a crypto journalist, for discrepancies between his claims of graduating with a Math degree which he never did, according to the reporter. Hoskinson has yet to respond to the allegations, with his most recent live stream, which took place shortly after the incident, focusing only on forthcoming events.
Various sources differ on the specifics of Hoskinson’s Ethereum leaving. Isaiah McCall, a crypto investor, described Hoskinson as a “problematic” individual whose sociopathic inclinations led to his unceremonious expulsion from Ethereum, leaving a sour taste in everyone’s mouth.
Hoskinson, on the other hand, maintains he departed owing to disagreements about Ethereum’s future trajectory. Vitalik Buterin preferred to keep the project non-profit, despite his desire to take the VC route. Between 2015 and 2017, Cardano was ICO-funded, which means it was funded by token buyers rather than venture capitalists.
In any event, a Twitter user who commented on Shin’s book said he liked Hoskinson’s portrayal, to which Hoskinson responded that the book was a “wonderful piece of fiction” worthy of high fantasy classics like The Hobbit.
