TV actress and NFT pioneer Reese Witherspoon announced that her production business, Hello Sunshine, has partnered with NFT collective World of Women (WoW). They’ll offer their character universe to the entertainment industry as a team.
Hello Sunshine will be able to grow the World of Warcraft universe into a wide range of intellectual property, including feature films and television shows, as well as non-linear scripted and unscripted television series.
World of Women began in July 2021 with 10,000 original works by women creators, immediately establishing itself as a leader in the NFT field. As the debate over intellectual property continues, this partnership demonstrates yet another big advancement in the lifespan and utility of NFTs in the entertainment industry.
Witherspoon, who has been an active member of the community, has promoted the relevance of female-led projects and the metaverse’s possibilities through her social media platforms, particularly Twitter Spaces. “This is a new horizon for me as an artist, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater partner to help us express our community’s vital basic principles in fresh and creative ways through narrative.” WoW and Hello Sunshine hope to conduct a live event in the future alongside other varied women-led NFT efforts to help educate women about Web3.
