The agreement with Warner Music signals “initial steps into the NFT and metaverse realm,” according to a blog post by The Sandbox team.
According to Oana Ruxandra, Warner Music Group’s Chief Digital Officer and EVP, Business Development:
“Our partnership with The Sandbox adds a new degree of possibility to the metaverse by allowing us to own virtual real estate.” As a first-mover, Warner Music has snatched up the metaverse’s equivalent of beachfront property. On the LAND, we’ll develop continuous, immersive social music experiences that defy real-world limitations and let our artists and fans to interact in ways they’ve never experienced before.”
“As part of this deal, WMG bought an ESTATE,” the blog post read, “which will operate as a door via which we can expect some of WMG’s talent to make an appearance in The Sandbox — thereby creating a new arena for musical entertainment in the metaverse.”
That’s all new from SAND and Warner Music. Wrap!
