Gemini, a cryptocurrency exchange, has announced a substantial sponsorship arrangement with Real Bedford FC. The company is joining with a number of industry partners in the support of the local UK football side, which will increase their popularity in the Premier League.
Last December, famous Bitcoin bull Peter McCormack purchased his hometown’s non-league football team and has been developing a strategy to incorporate Bitcoin into every commercial aspect of the club—from merchandise and sponsorship endorsements to developing an education programme for fans and community members.
According to McCormack, the club’s new chairman, Real Bedford’s financial success and ability to reach national and international audiences will enable investment in football excellence and beyond, helping the local economy.
The Gemini logo will feature on the club’s jersey as part of the deal. Real Bedford collaborated with Kappa for its 2022–23 shirts, with the club expecting the merchandise to be an important cash stream. After acquiring the team as Bedford FC, McCormack decided to rebrand the team as Real Bedford at the end of the 2021/22 season.
