Following in the footsteps of many bollywood actors, cricketers, cartoonists, and other artists, broadcaster Viacom18 is proposing to develop a store for non-fungible tokens (NFT), Fullyfaltoonft.com. The marketplace is envisioned by Viacom18’s Youth, Music,and English Entertainment (YME) cluster, headed by Anshul Ailawadi. It includes youth brand MTV, and is set to go live next month. On February 14, the first drop will contain popular MTV digital artwork conceptualised and developed by the MTV crew.

Anshul Ailawadi, Head – YME, Viacom18 told Economics Times that “when we first considered entering the NFT market last year, we were clear that we wanted to be in it for the long haul.” “We have a tradition that we wanted to continue building on.”

The technique prohibits the NFT from being replicated, so maintaining the owner’s exclusive rights, which is currently an issue in the NFT scene. The NFT drop will also be built on the environmentally aware Polygon blockchain, which is a climate-sustainable blockchain that is 99.99 percent more carbon efficient than ETH.
