Eric Trump, Donald Trump’s son, has made critical remarks about the meme coin TrumpCoin. In a tweet on Monday, he stated that TrumpCoin has nothing to do with his family, is not authorised, and has no ties to them. Eric has threatened legal action against the initiative, which he has termed a “fraud.”
TrumpCoin was created “by patriots for patriots everywhere” in honour of Donald Trump, despite the fact that the former President is not a huge admirer of cryptocurrencies. In his opinion, crypto assets are nothing more than a calamity waiting to happen.
TrumpCoin has a market capitalization of around $1.47 million and 6.6 million coins in circulation. There are a total of 18 million TrumpCoins available. Its previous 24-hour trading volume increased by more than 311.27 percent, to a measly $8,988, probably as a result of Eric’s tweet.
The team behind TrumpCoin replied to Eric Trump’s statement by emphasising that they have never claimed any affiliation with the Trump family.
After Eric’s tweet, TrumpCoin has dropped by more than 16 percent to trade at $0.22. The coin reached an all-time high of $1.6902 in mid-November before reversing course due to a larger market decline.
