Following the first announcement of “Project Saturn” last week, Gala Games is a blockchain gaming ecosystem driven by NFTs and other GameFi features that eventually revealed the mystery behind it on June 6. The new project will be a strategy-based MMO game based on Battlestar Galactica, a famous Syfy drama that aired for four seasons between 2003 and 2004. To offer this thrilling game to the Galaverse, Gala has collaborated with Universal Games and Revolving Games.
Gala Games launched a secret gaming project last week, dubbed “Project Saturn” by its community. After a week, it was revealed that the enigmatic game is Battlestar Galactica, with a cosmic, post-apocalyptic plot.
The plot of the game begins with the Cylon invading and destroying the twelve human settlements. The players will assume the role of human survivors, rebuilding their strongholds and gathering supplies to survive additional Cylon invasions. The survivors will salvage what is left of the colonies and rebuild their strongholds to repel any subsequent enemy attacks.
As the region expands, so will the threats to mankind. Players will be able to form coalitions to battle the Cylon as they level up. The resources gathered can be utilised to restore the technologies and reclaim the territory. Cooperation and sociability are emphasised as vital abilities in this strategy game.
The game will be released in seasons, with each season bringing a different conflict, world, and life for people to adapt to. Every season has goals that the players must achieve via individual and collective play. What happens to their planet in the next seasons will be determined by how the players strategize and compete.
The game will take place in the same universe as the television programme, about 40 years after the first Cylon War. The player colonies’ technology, lifestyle, and army will alter depending on their strategy. There will also be individual and group scoreboards to keep track of your accomplishments.
Revolving Games, in collaboration with Gala Games, Universal Games, and Digital Games, will build the next Battlestar Galactica MMO game for the Galaverse environment.
