On June 2, Zora, an open-source NFT marketplace protocol that lets users purchase, sell, and keep digital collectibles, released “the most sophisticated NFT API” to date.
The new NFT API platform includes minting information, historical data, sales records, metadata, current market value, and optimised NFT media for over 42 million NFTs. The Zora API indexes data on every NFT contract on the Ethereum blockchain automatically, and it claims to be able to find NFT-related data on a larger scale than any other API currently available. Meanwhile, there are plans in the works to provide support for additional chains in the near future.
Zora shared the news on their twitter handle:
The API indexes data from other Ethereum NFT trading platforms, such as OpenSea and LooksRare, in addition to Zora marketplaces. After each sale or transfer, NFT data is immediately synced within minutes.
The new API’s text-based search functionality is another intriguing feature. This allows users to look for NFTs using certain words or phrases. For example, searching for “Ape” will yield every NFT contract that mentions the word “Ape” right away. The API also returns the original material that is referenced on-chain, as well as processed versions of the item in several sizes that are optimised for display on both web and mobile devices. Its graph QL-built API, in particular, provides for fast retrieval of big data sets.
Zora is a public protocol for trading NFTs that was founded in 2022. Its user-friendly interface makes launching an entire NFT collection simple for everyone.
