Crypto asset management firm Ikigai raises $30 million to develop Web3 ventures

Ikigai, a crypto asset management business located in Puerto Rico that manages cash for over 275 investors, announced on May 17 that it had secured $30 million in venture financing.

On May 17, Ikigai Asset Management, a crypto asset management business formed in 2018, announced the establishment of its first venture fund, the Ikigai Trust Revolution Opportunities Fund, which will focus on developing and investing in early-stage Web3 technologies. Existing investors in Ikigai’s flagship hedge fund contributed $30 million to the venture fund. Ikigai’s Founder & CIO Travis Kling and Founder & CEO Anthony Emtman will administer the Fund, with help from present and future Ikigai employees.

Travis Kling, Ikigai founder and chief investment officer, remarked:

“X-to-earn is a trend in the top of the first inning that we believe can be transformative for humanity over the coming decades.”

He went on to say:

“We will fund and help build the projects leading to that transformation.”

The overarching concepts of The Trust Revolution and Value Mobility will be the focus of the Ikigai Trust Revolution Opportunities Fund. The fund will also focus on “X-to-earn” game formats like play-to-earn and move-to-earn. Ikigai Asset Management is a multi-strategy crypto asset management firm focused on ethically producing excellent risk-adjusted returns. Ikigai invests on behalf of over 275 investors in a range of investing methods all around the world.

The investment pool was accessible to any of Ikigai’s 275 limited-partner investors. The money will go toward the Ikigai Trust Revolution Opportunities fund, which will invest in metaverse businesses, blockchain games, decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs), non-fungible tokens (NFTs),  and other web3 efforts with the overarching goal of assisting in the growth of initiatives that use technology to empower humans rather than the other way around. Framework Ventures, 6th Man Ventures, and other businesses have established venture funds for play-to-earn, metaverse, and other web3 initiatives, and Ikigai’s new fund joins them.

The Trust Revolution is the belief that a growing number of people are having difficulty trusting institutions of all kinds, and that this tendency will continue. The very concepts “trust” and “truth” are being twisted, and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and crypto assets may be used to drive change for the better good of humanity.
