In an effort to raise additional funds for the war, Ukraine’s government developed a website where individuals may give and acquire non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The new site shows various NFTs, including an mfer and a MoonCat with a Ukrainian flag, and links to their OpenSea pages, where people may bid to buy them. The asking prices for the mfer and MoonCat are five and two ETH, respectively.
“As usual, all the money will help Ukraine’s triumph.” “Ready, steady, NFT,” Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, tweeted on Wednesday.
The website also has an Ethereum address for anybody interested in donating NFTs. It also includes a list of NFT collections that the government “supports,” such as Doge in Ukraine and Russia For Sale.
At the end of March, Ukraine launched its own NFT collection. Those NFTs, however, are not accessible for purchase on the new site. The government said this week that a second NFT decrease is scheduled for May 1.
According to the country’s official crypto donation website, Ukraine has received at least $60 million in contributions. It was able to use part of that money to purchase thousands of bulletproof vests, packed lunches, medical equipment, and other goods for the armed forces.
“Blockchain, crypto, and NFT will not stop the missiles, but they will provide a method to safeguard our defenders and rebuild Ukraine as an innovation-friendly country,” stated Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Alex Bornyakov, on Twitter.
