Panama National Assembly introduces cryptocurrency “Law Project” to give clear vision to cryptocurrency movement

The National Assembly of Panama has put forward a cryptocurrency law proposal to give more clarity to the digital currency movement in the country. The scheme, which was approved in the primary discussion, was made out of two unique tasks introduced to the Assembly’s economic affairs body.

Panama is taking initial steps to control crypto resources and the organisations in the country. The National Assembly of the country, which is the most elevated administrative association in Panama, has taken steps toward managing the utilisation of digital currencies.

The institution has passed a cryptocurrency law project “Law regulating the commercialization and use of crypto assets, the issuance of digital value, the tokenization of precious metals and other items, payment systems, and other provisions” during the primary discussion.

The proposed regulation incorporates definitions and ideas about crypto, blockchain innovation, and the execution of these decentralised instruments to improve on state issues. According to a social media post from the organisation, this authorised project is a combination of two different proposals offered as legislation projects 696 and 697.

One of the main propositions of the law project is the incorporation of a blockchain-based proof venture that plans to digitise the Panamanian state’s responsibility.

This goal is characterized in the law as:

“Expand the digitalization of the State by promoting the use of distributed ledger technology and blockchain in the digitalization of the identity of natural and legal persons in or from the Republic of Panama and as a means to make the public function transparent.”
