On September 14, the US Treasury Department announced new sanctions on the Iranian military’s ransomware gang.
The US Treasury division of Foreign Asset Control targeted two organisations and 10 people that are related to Iran’s Islamic ransomware activities.
Moreover, OFAC accuses that in 2021, this ransomware crew targeted a region in New Jersey and a kid’s hospital, among different exploits.
The Treasury’s declaration said, “This IRGC-affiliated group is known to take advantage of programming weaknesses to complete their ransomware activities, as well as participate in unauthorised computer access, information exfiltration, and other malignant cyber activities.”

The new penalty included 7 new Bitcoin addresses, adding to a developing list of crypto addresses that the Treasury has assigned.
