It is important to note that the Global Unicorn Index 2022 Half-Year Report gives a rating of the world’s start-ups that were established in the 2000s, have a value of at least one billion dollars, and are not yet listed on any public exchange. This information can be found in the report. The cutoff date for this year was June 30th. Since 2017, the institution has been keeping tabs on the unicorn population.
The value of the top ten unicorns from this year accounts for 17.6% of the total worth of all unicorns in the world. Five of them are from China, three are from the United States, while the United Kingdom and Malta each contributed one.
According to the findings of Hurun Research, there are 1,312 unicorns on the globe. On average, these unicorns were created eight years ago, in 2014. According to the findings of the study, the overall worth of all of the world’s known unicorns comes to US$4.2 trillion, which is larger than Germany’s GDP. In addition, the average age of a unicorn founder is 44 years old, which indicates that they started their companies when they were 36 years old.
Rupert Hoogewerf, Chairman of the Hurun Report and Chief Researcher, said that the purpose of the Global Unicorn Index 2022 Half-Year Report is to identify the most successful start-up businesses throughout the globe.
The current start-up trends in the United States and China show that the majority of US unicorns are found in the software as a service (SaaS), financial technology, and health technology sectors, while China’s unicorns are found in the health technology, artificial intelligence, and e-commerce sectors.
