After the United States and Canada, Spain is now officially home to the world’s third-largest network of automated teller machines (ATMs) that issue bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Spain is presently home to 215 cryptocurrency ATMs, putting it in fourth place after El Salvador (with 212 cryptocurrency ATMs) after Spain passed the country by a margin of three cryptocurrency ATMs. According to information from CoinATMRadar, 0.6% of all cryptocurrency ATMs in the world can be found in Spain.
According to the new information, Spain is the country with the most cryptocurrency automated teller machines (ATMs) in Europe, with a total of 145 of them. This positions Spain at the top of the list, followed by Switzerland (144 ATMs), Poland (142 ATMs), and Romania (135 ATMs).
Only in 2022 did Spain install 43 cryptocurrency ATMs, but the country had earlier announced its intention to install a total of more than 100 ATMs by the end of the year, which would bring the total number of cryptocurrency ATMs to about 300 once everything was finished.
The plan to put cryptocurrency ATMs in Austria, Germany, Spain, and Greece is being led by companies like the German electronics store MediaMarkt and the company Confinity.
On the other hand, the number of cryptocurrency ATM installations throughout the world has been decreasing since September 2022 and is now in the process of gradually increasing again as this article is being written. According to calculations based on data from the previous sixty days, approximately seven new cryptocurrency ATMs are being set up every day throughout the globe.
Greece is now sixth in the number of cryptocurrency ATMs, and because the country gets a lot of tourists, the owner of a Bitcoin ATM shared some information about how it is used in Greece.
