According to Ripple CBDC adviser Antony Welfare, the company will be introducing more CDBC in the upcoming weeks. Ripple may soon make encouraging developments in its central bank digital currency (CBDC) public programmes. Welfare responded to a tweet posted by @sentosumosaba, a member of the XRP community. The tweet includes some rather significant remarks from Welfare that were taken from an interview that was done on June 17, 2022, including this one: “Ripple has many pilots in the works for CBDCs, including the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) of Bhutan and the Republic of Palau.”
Another comment from the interview reads,”Crypto is built in Ripple’s DNA. In addition to working with other participants in the cryptocurrency ecosystem on use cases like NFTs and CBDCs (also known as tokenized assets), our RippleX business unit is dedicated to making it simple for developers to build on and use the XRP Ledger.
He offered an additional piece of information that is encouraging for Ripple XRP users as he thanked Sento for the Twitter mention. After launching a private version of the XRP Ledger in 2021 and establishing a framework for central banks to safely build CBDCs, the company has taken a more active role in the development of central bank digital currencies (CBDC).
