PGA Tour joins hand with web-3 brand Autograph to introduce golf-focused NFT platform

On September 19, Tom Brady, co-founder of sports memorabilia company Autograph, and the PGA Tour, a leading organiser of professional men’s golf events, joined hands to introduce a new platform for digital artefacts related to golf. 

As per the recent press release shared by Autograph, the web-3 brand signed a long-term partnership with the PGA Tour to develop a complete “digital collectibles” NFT platform. This will revolutionise golf fandom by enabling fans to commemorate their love of the game by possessing a memento of its illustrious past.

The top PGA TOUR golfers, as well as some of their best moments from the past and current FedExCup season, will be depicted on NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), which golf fans will be able to purchase and collect. Additionally, collectors will have the option to earn advantages from the program that span a variety of categories, including access to exclusive onsite, in-person, and digital experiences.

As per Richard Rosenblatt, co-founder and co-chairman of the board at Autograph, “We are thrilled to expand our roster of iconic partners with the addition of the PGA TOUR as our first professional league.” The co-founder of the company in this long-term partnership said that by utilising NFT technology to connect fans closer to the figures they adore in sports, music, and entertainment as well as each other, we have defined the future of fandom over the past year. With the help of this cooperation, we hope to develop new possibilities and give our neighborhood exclusive access to the PGA TOUR team.

On the other hand, the PGA tour expresses its excitement at working with Autograph. The PGA Tour’s Chief Legal Officer, Len Brown, expressed his excitement in a statement, saying, “The PGA Tour is delighted to cooperate with Autograph to offer digital collectibles that highlight the most brilliant players in the world and their importance in the sport’s history.” 

Notably, both companies have worked together in the past and have dabbled in NFTs before. had previously been the tour-licensed media partner chosen by PGA Tours to mint NFTs in April of this year. The FedExCup is a golf tournament with an $18 million prize pool.

The NFT-based sports memorabilia site Autograph, which debuted in July 2021, not only offers sporting moments but also collections from players like the gymnast Simone Biles, the golfer Tiger Woods, and the firm’s co-founder, football star Tom Brady. In January, the web-3 brand, Autograph, also secured $170 million in a Series B investment.
