Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon feels that the metaverse will provide immense opportunities for those who are connected to it. The hardware sector sees that the current metaverse push in the software sector is a very promising area to pursue.
Qualcomm CEO speaks about Future of Metaverse
Qualcomm, one of the top electronics mobile chip producers, is positive about the metaverse’s future. It focuses on the significance that this new technology could bring to the semiconductor and electrical consumer markets in the near future.
Cristiano Amon, the company’s CEO, stated in an interview that it is real and will be a huge opportunity. Over a decade ago, we began investing in basic technologies that enable the physical and digital worlds to come together.
For Cristiano Amon, the metaverse means that there will be a requirement for specialised software for apps that will grow the metaverse experience to diverse targets. He also believes that the wearables market can give metaverse augmentations for individuals on the go.
Chips manufactured for many devices are also used in metaverse applications, including Meta’s Quest brand of VR headsets and Microsoft’s planned, upgraded version of the Hololens, a VR headset. However, some people opposed using wearables and augmented reality technology as part of the metaverse.
Former Sony PlayStation game console chairman and CEO Ken Kutaragi believes the present metaverse’s integration of wearables is wrong. According to Kutaragi, the metaverse is primarily about the utilisation of augmented reality techniques that allow people to experience the existing environment without the usage of wearables.
