According to a press statement, the Houston Texans of the NFL have formed a partnership with BitWallet, which will now serve as the team’s official digital currency wallet.
BitWallet will act as the middleman to handle the conversion of bitcoin to fiat currency upon purchase, allowing fans of the NFL club to use bitcoin to buy single game suites. Actually, the Houstons have already made a deal with EWR Digital, a digital marketing company, to purchase their first suite.
“We are proud to partner with BitWallet to offer an exciting option for our fans who are looking to enjoy Texans gameday in one of our suites,” Houston Texans president, Greg Grissom said. “BitWallet is a perfect collaborator as we continue our efforts to move our organization forward in new and innovative ways.”
Not only does BitWallet serve as a bitcoin wallet, which enables users to transfer bitcoin to any location in the globe, but the firm also operates an exchange through which people and companies may purchase bitcoin.
“Digital currency has become a primary means of payment and by partnering with BitWallet, the Texans are leading the way in the NFL,” BitWallet CEO, John Perrone said. “I am honored that BitWallet is the first to offer Texans fans this service.”
The NFL team based in Houston has joined the Tennessee Titans NFL team, which had previously announced that bitcoin could be used for large and recurring purchases if a third-party conversion service is used.
