The naming rights sponsor of Australian Blockchain Week 2022 would be FTX Trading Limited (FTX), which will take place from March 21 to March 25.
Blockchain Australia is Australia’s premier industry network, gathering up enterprise, scholars, and government to discuss the prospects of blockchain technology.
Australian Blockchain Week will include over 200 presenters over 75 activities, including FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. FTX is a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange and founded in May 2019. According to Coinranking, it had a 24-hour trading volume of USD 1.41 billion at the time of writing. The agreement is the latest example of overseas cryptocurrency exchanges spending huge money to promote their identities in front of an Australian audience.
According to Steve Vallas, CEO of Blockchain Australia, the appointment of FTX as a naming rights sponsor comes at a major milestone in the Australian blockchain environment. Surge of interest from large financial companies in blockchain technology and hints of more industry regulation, will ensure this year’s event to be a crucial moment for all stakeholders.
According to Bankman-Fried, the agreement is the first step towards long-term expansion of the Australian market. He also said that it will progress the local business, better secure and protect customers, and enable financial institutions to adapt and prosper in the crypto market.

Bankman-Fried led FTX ranked 11th among the top 2021 unicorn firms in December 2021, with a capitalization of USD 25 billion.
