Top Singapore bank DBS joins hand with Sandbox to create intuitive metaverse experience for its users

On September 9, Singapore’s biggest bank DBS announced a partnership with Sandbox, an Ethereum-based gaming platform to create an intuitive metaverse experience, DBS BetterWorld, as a feature of an extensive guide to investigate Web 3 opportunities for its clients.

The most recent partnership denotes the foray of the first Singaporean entity to team up with the Animoca Brands’ subsidiary as it joins DBS aspiring “SingaporeVerse,” an area on a virtual map that looks to bring the lifestyle of the city-state to life in the metaverse.

The official press release expressed that DBS BetterWorld expects to feature the significance of “building a better, more supportable world, and welcoming others to come alongside.” As part of the agreement, DBS intends to procure a 3×3 plot of the digital piece of land in The Sandbox’s metaverse LAND which will be created with vivid components.

Piyush Gupta, CEO of DBS, said the metaverse tech could generally change the manner in which banks communicate with clients and communities. He further expressed 

“Our partnership with The Sandbox and Animoca Brands denotes the beginning of an exciting collaboration as we push the limits of what is conceivable in the metaverse. We also look forward to harnessing it as an extra creative platform to spread significant ESG issues to the world and to focus on communities and partners accomplishing good work to address them.”

The Southeast Asian monetary group additionally said it will draw in collaborators and partners from the public authority, community, business, and innovation spaces while investigating opportunities to feature DBS BetterWorld with the recently launched computerized platform, LiveBetter. The objective is to propel more eco-cognizant living among its clients.

DBS with the partnership will ensure carbon neutrality on DBS BetterWorld by purchasing carbon offsets.

The collaboration comes just one day after Sandbox’s Instagram profile got hacked. The stealers attempted to take Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs from many clients on social media platforms.

Moreover, hackers, after decoding the firm’s two-factor authentication (2FA) and other safety measures, changed the profile site URL to encourage the fake giveaway.
