Crypto exchange Bitpay announces to offer BitPay gift cards to its users to purchase electronics goods in US

On August 19, BitPay announced via tweet that the holders of Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu can now use their cryptocurrency at the US electronic store, Best Buy, to purchase electronic products such as computers, cell phones, appliances, and video games via BitPay gift cards.

BitPay, a crypto payment processor, announced that BitPay users can now purchase Best Buy gift cards by using their cryptocurrency holdings. Moreover, Best Buy partnered with hundreds of brands for which BitPay empowers its customers to purchase gift cards with their crypto.

At present, crypto holders can only use their best buy gift cards at Minnesota-headquartered stores. Newegg, another electronic retailer, only accepts direct crypto payments.

BitPay-supported cryptocurrencies are Ethereum, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dai, Bitcoin Cash, XRP, stablecoins, dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).

Nowadays, cryptocurrencies are gaining traction for using them as payment methods. Newegg, a computer and electronics e-store, added Shiba Inu as a mode of payment last year.

The addition of SHIB was celebrated on the world’s biggest digital out-of-home billboard in LA, California. Moreover, Newegg announced the acceptance of Dogecoin as a payment method on the occasion of “dogeday” in April of the same year.

The largest cinema chain, AMC Theatres, announced in April 2022 that they are now accepting Shiba Inu and Dogecoin for payments via BitPay.

Apart from AMC Theater, luxury watchmakers like Hublot, Tag Heuer, and Breitling are now accepting cryptocurrencies via BitPay. Moreover, BitPay users can now pay for fast food deliveries from Uber Eats.

Take-out restaurants like Steak ‘n Shake, Grill, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Chili’s as well as Food delivery firms like Grubhub, DoorDash and many more are accepting cryptocurrencies.
