Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, the world’s biggest crypto exchange, met with the Central African Republic’s President, Faustin-Archange Touadera, to address several aspects of cryptocurrency, especially adoption.
Zhao stated the meeting on August 5 via tweet, where Zhao and Touadera addressed a variety of issues at the discussion, which included “education, investments, and crypto acceptance in the Central African Republic.”

Central African Republic Bitcoin adoption
Touadéra has escalated his attempts to encourage cryptocurrency adoption after the Central African Republic’s approval of Bitcoin as official money, as the nation emerged as the first in Africa and the second in the world to accomplish this feat after El Salvador.
According to Finbold, the head of state, Bitcoin adoption is on the correct track, particularly in these difficult economic times.
Zhao has been participating in a worldwide campaign to boost cryptocurrency acceptance in various countries; in contrast, Zhao announced in July 2022 that he had talked with the presidents of Senegal and Ivory Coast to promote his drive to boost bitcoin acceptability throughout Africa and even beyond.
Despite reservations about the continent’s readiness to embrace cryptocurrencies, CZ is confident that it is equipped and has consequently collaborated with websites like Jokkolabs, the continent’s first social value centre. As a result of the partnership, Binance wants to launch a blockchain outreach and education project across Francophone Africa.
Changpeng Zhao’s support for cryptocurrency
Changpeng Zhao defended cryptocurrencies amid claims that Binance had lax anti-money laundering policies in place. Zhao’s dealings with politicians are therefore interpreted as attempts to win over lawmakers in nations where Binance is well-known. The Binance CEO and Turkish Finance Minister, Nureddin Nebati, conducted a meeting focused on the blockchain ecosystem and cryptos.
